Our internal Central Data Office department is composed of technical and business data experts. Within this department, you will have the opportunity to improve your abilities while evolving within a dynamic environment and a young and multicultural team, working with the latest technologies.

 

We are currently looking for a Data Scientist - Product Manager for our Data Science and Engineering team, one of the four pillars of the Data Factory Team. In the Data Factory, BI developers, data architects, data scientists and data engineers operate large data volumes from multiple data formats on many different sources to collect, extract, transfer, analyze and serve insightful results to business stakeholders.

Your mission

 

As a Data Scientist - Product Manager you will have the following responsibilities:

  • work closely with your business to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making

  • build algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored reports to colleagues, customers or the wider organisation

  • use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problems

  • test data mining models to select the most appropriate ones

  • maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report results

  • assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods

  • horizon scan to stay up to date with the latest technology, techniques and methods

  • conduct research from which you'll develop prototypes and proof of concepts

  • stay curious and enthusiastic about using algorithms to solve problems and demonstrate to others the benefit of your work.

  • ensure the product lifecycle management, respecting ITIL processes

  • maintain and enhance the existing products while anticipating issues and communicating with stakeholders

  • translate business requirements to technical specifications

  • ensure deliverables quality setting-up CI/CD, automated tests, business tests

  • organize sprints and manage the product backlog with the product owner

 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in data science, statistics, econometrics, computer science, information systems, or a similar field.

  • Demonstrable experience (5+ years) as a Data Scientist (mastering of R and Python), knowledge of Spark/Hadoop, MS Machine Learning Server, Linux scripting.

  • Demonstrable experience (3+ years) as Product Manager (ITIL) and/or Project Manager (Scrum, Kanban, ...)

  • Proficiency in SQL (MS SQL preferred), knowledge of No-SQL.

  • Knowledge of data modeling, database design, and the data warehousing ecosystem.

  • Experience with Cloud Computing (e.g. Azure, GCP), PaaS solutions (e.g. Spark, DataBricks).

  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines (TFS, Azure DevOps).

  • Skilled at the ideation, design, and deployment of Data Science solutions.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to work within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.

  • English speaking is required, French speaking is considered as an asset.
