About the Role:

We're seeking a passionate and experienced Backend Engineer to join our growing Data Team and contribute to the development of our next-generation platform. You'll play a crucial role in building and maintaining the core data infrastructure, working closely with our ML engineer to develop and optimize data pipelines that fuel our platform's intelligence.

Scope of Work:

As a Backend Engineer within the Data Team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our data processing and analysis. This includes building robust and scalable data pipelines, optimizing data storage and retrieval, and collaborating with our ML engineer to integrate machine learning models. You will be a reliable technical resource, contributing to problem-solving, code development, and team growth. A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including customer requirements, product design, timelines, and technical debt, is essential.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as an in-house backend developer.
• Solid experience in Golang and Python.
• Passion for software development, concurrency mechanisms, and building small, intercommunicating services using REST, gRPC, and RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Excellent team spirit and communication skills in an international and multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English.

You get bonus points if you have any of the following:

• Familiarity with data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink).
• Experience with data-oriented Python librairies (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas, PySpark,...)
• Experience designing and orchestrating data pipelines with tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
• Understanding of SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling.
• Experience with inter-process communication using a queue-messaging system.
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud binary storages.
• Experience with Docker and GitLab CI.
• Experience with TypeScript, Qt, or C++.
• Understanding of functional and reactive programming principles.
